Ingredient Glossary

  1. Aqua - Water
  2. Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate - A mild, biodegradable cleansing agent. It is known for its good foam-boosting abilities while improving the mildness of the formula. It is gentle & safe compared to other cleansing agents.
  3. Sodium Acrylate - Synthetic agent that helps in binding water molecules and is used as a thickener. Sodium Acrylate Copolymers are deemed safe to be used in skincare products.
  4. Decyl Glucoside - A vegetable origin (coconut or palm kernel oil and glucose) cleansing agent with great foaming abilities. It's also mild to the skin and readily biodegradable.
  5. Glycerin - A natural moisturizer that’s also in our skin. A super common, safe & effective molecule used for more than 50 years.
  6. Sodium Benzoate - A helper ingredient that helps to make the products stay nice longer, aka preservative. It works mainly against fungi.
  7. Potassium Sorbate - Potassium sorbate is a potassium salt having sorbate as the counterion. It is used as a preservative.
  8. Xylitylglucoside - The main part of a moisturizing complex called Aquaxyl. Comes from two water-binding plant sugars: glucose and xylitol.
  9. Triethanolamine - It’s a little helper ingredient that helps to set the pH of a cosmetic formulation to be just right.
  10. Sodium Gluconate - The neutralized form of gluconic acid. This helps to prevent discoloration of the formula over time or rancidity of cosmetic oils. It can also be a pH regulator and a humectant (helps skin to cling onto water)
  11. Cetearyl Olivate - An ester that comes from Cetearyl alcohol and the fatty acids of olive oil. It is an active ingredient with significant moisturizing, barrier-repairing and soothing properties.
  12. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate – It’s an active ingredient used in sunscreen. It absorbs UVB radiation.
  13. Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane - It is the only globally available chemical sunscreen agent that provides proper UVA protection.
  14. Benzophenone-3 - A chemical sunscreen agent that absorbs UVB and short UVA rays.
  15. Phospholipids - As for skincare, it works as an emollient and skin-identical ingredient.
  16. Cetearyl Alcohol - An extremely common multitasker ingredient that gives your skin a nice, soft feel (emollient)
  17. Cocamidopropyl Betaine - Super common ingredient in all kinds of cleansing products: face and body washes, shampoos and foam baths. Number one reason for its popularity has to do with bubbles.
  18. Anhydroxylitol - A natural, plant-derived ingredient that acts as a humectant to help skin absorb and retain moisture.
  19. Sodium PCA - The sodium salt form of PCA is an important skin-identical ingredient and great natural moisturizer that helps the skin to hold onto water and stay nicely hydrated.
  20. Steareth-20 methacrylate crosspolymer – Safe thickening agent
  21. Tocopherol (Vitamin E) - It is the major fat-soluble antioxidant in our skin. As a strong antioxidant it’s an A-player in protecting the skin cells from the nasty little things called free-radicals that want to destroy the lovely collagen that makes our skin nice and firm.
  22. Lauryl Amine Oxide - It is a standard liquid surfactant. It provides excellent foam boosting and stability.
